This no-cost event is hosted by the Alabama Rural Electric Association, Central Alabama Electric Cooperative, and the Department of Homeland Security’s newest Agency – Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA). This conference is open to personnel in the electric sector, and state and local government. The Alabama State Electric Conference will feature speakers from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation, other U.S. Government entities, state, and local agencies, as well as the private sector experts. Speakers at this 2-day-long event will address a wide range of homeland security topics including: Strengthening Cybersecurity in the Energy Sector; Cyber Threats to Smart Systems; Cyber Response Planning; Cyber Threat and Investigative Procedures; Substation Security; UAS Utilization and Integration for Security Enhancement; as well as a Site tour to a local Substation, and a Cyber-Physical Convergence Tabletop Exercise.
