This course is designed to teach employees how to communicate assertively. Assertive communication is a process that allows the communicator to express their needs, wants and opinions in a way which is considerate of others. Communicating in an assertive manner allows you to minimize conflict, control angry, increase clarity and understanding and develop more professional relationships with co-workers. In this session we will use real world cooperative examples to teach employees how to convert passive aggressive communications to assertive communications styles. We will conduct a communication style assessment for each participant and then use interactive sessions to enhance their effectiveness. The participants will leave with skills to:• Use assertive communications methods.• Handle difficult members with control and respect.• Develop methods to express the cooperative’s position on tough issues.• Project a self-assured image when communicating.
