Dates: Feb 19, 2020   2020-02-19 2020-02-19 America/Chicago Attitudes & Behaviors (Resource101) -- February 19, 2020 @ AREA (beginning at 8:30 a.m.) February 19, 2020 – Attitudes & Behaviors (Resource101) – 1 day/1 credit Behavior vs Attitude. Attitude and behavior are closely related in some sense though they are two different concepts. One of the most important differences between behavior and attitude is that attitude is internal whereas behavior is external in sense. In other words, it can be said that behavior can very well be seen by others. The way you react, is a reflection of attitude. How you react, how you think, what you say to yourself or what you believe about yourself are all within your control and are portrayed by your attitude. You must first realize that your attitude is 100% within your control and then, learn to reflect, confirm and take hold of that attitude. As leaders or a team member, it is important for you to comprehend these two aspects of relationship. An attitude is an expression of favor or disfavor toward a person, place, thing, or event (the attitude object). It also helps you understand others to know something about their personality – knowledge that you can use to guide YOUR behavior. And your own behavior is the thing you have the most control over at work. Attitudes, on the other hand, are subject to change. We want to change attitudes because of the belief that attitudes influence behavior. In this session/course, participants will comprehend and understand:   Attitudes and Behaviors n  Impact of attitudes on success of individuals and organizations --Ways people acquire attitudes --Attitudes that employers value --How to change your own or others’ attitudes --Organizational efforts to develop positive employee attitudes --Behaviors of themselves and others --What causes behavior in individuals --How behavior modification is a process --How to deal with different attitudes and behaviors --Develop a plan to engage back at the work environment to improve your ability to handle attitudes and behaviors AREA Alabama Rural Electric Association
